"I cannot find a doctor who knows about Bio-identical Hormones OR I cannot afford the office visit. Is there anything I can do myself to balance my hormones?"
Don't be dismayed. You are not alone AND there are some easy things you can do to help yourself. Actually, even with insurance coverage and no financial concerns, many women are still becoming their own health advocate...as evidenced by the many women's health websites that have recently been established, not to mention the plethora of chat rooms wherein women are counseling and advising each other. Hormone balance discussions are a good thing because there are some simple natural remedies to many of the symptoms that do not require a doctor visit or a prescription medication. Remember..menopause is a transition, not a disease and women throughout the years have been going through it without being under a doctor's care.
Now, do not misunderstand me. I have worked in and with the medical community for over 30 years and I deeply respect physicians. However, it is true that many doctors either will not accept insurance, do not have knowledge of bio-identical hormones and thus continue to prescribe synthetic hormones, or charge office visit fees that are not affordable for many women. I know of one woman who paid over $500 for her "hormone evaluation". Just today, I heard of a doctor who is charging $1,500 to become one of the doctor's hormone patients!
So...are you having some of these miserable symptoms of Estrogen Dominance?
Inability to concentrate
Low sex drive
What can you do for yourself?
Well, let me tell you!
First, if you have the time and inclination and about $15 and want to read a good "do-it-yourself" manual for hormone balance using progesterone, I suggest you purchase What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause or What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Peri-Menopause, both books written by John R. Lee, M.D. You will become SO informed about using over-the-counter strengths of the hormone progesterone.
Second, you can go to my information website www.progesteroneresearchnetwork.com and continue your "education" on the benefits of this wonderful hormone.
Third, (or first, if you want to get started right away), purchase a jar of a good natural progesterone cream. This can be found in health food stores or online. You will use it as follows:
Menstruating Women (including perimenopause): Apply 1/4 tsp twice daily on inner arms, wrists, palms of hands, inner thighs, face or neck. Start on the 12th day after first day of menstrual flow through the 26th day.
Non-Menstruating women: Apply 1/4 tsp twice daily. Use 25 days of the month.
What do we notice when women are on progesterone? GOOD NEWS! It can change your life!
More energy and stamina
Less confusion and “foggy mind”
PMS symptoms reduced or eliminated
Menopause symptoms reduced or eliminated
Healthier and more youthful skin YES! Your skin just LOVES progesterone!
Balanced moods; fewer mood swings
Normalization of weight A HUGE benefit, no pun intended
Better muscle definition
Better sleep – NO MORE INSOMNIA for many of you!
SIDE EFFECTS: There are no real side effects to the use of natural progesterone. After all, this is the bio-identical hormone your body makes when you are young and healthy and which it makes in copious amounts during pregnancy. If one were to use exorbitant amounts of progesterone in one application, drowsiness may occur as progesterone is a natural anti-anxiety agent.
So...feeling hormonally imbalanced with no bio-identical hormone doctor in your area OR no funds to visit one? You may want to get started today on natural progesterone. I've been using it since 1993 and I feel FANTASTIC! I want the same for you!
Don't forget to call me if you have any questions or a recommendation for a good cream.
I'm so pleased to be your advocate and your friend!
