YES! YES! YES!
Progesterone means “Pro” Gestation. Gestation means the process of being carried in the womb!
Progesterone is used extensively in infertility clinics, especially for women who have a history of miscarriage. It has been studied for 60 years, all the way back to the 1940s, so it is SAFE!
Here’s how it works: progesterone aids in conception because it prepares the uterine wall for implantation of the fertilized egg. The wall needs to be STRONG. An egg may fertilize, but is unable to implant and fails to survive after implantation. Progesterone stimulates the maturation and growth of the uterus to make that wall strong and ready to receive your fertilized egg.
Good progesterone levels during pregnancy are crucial for survival of the embryo. Progesterone also keeps the uterus from contracting and expelling the embryo in its early stages. It promotes growth of blood vessels that nourish the baby. That significantly reduces the rate of pre-eclampsia also known as toxemia which can threaten a pregnancy.
If you don’t have a doctor, you can use Progesterone on your own. It is available over the counter… no prescription necessary. Very safe for both the mother and the baby. Progesterone levels in the placenta are up to 6 times the level of the mother during late pregnancy! Progesterone is made by the placenta, God’s link between you and your developing baby. Good for your baby and good for you!
Now, THIS IS INTERESTING:
I have seen studies that the children of women who use progesterone during pregnancy tend to be more advanced, walk earlier and are “above average” in academics (school). If the mother used the progesterone early in pregnancy, children seemed to benefit the most.
Wow! God sure knew what he was doing when he gave us the “proGestation hormone” Also, great for post partum depression.
HOW TO USE:
Rule of thumb, the levels that will support a pregnancy are 40-80 mg per day for the 1st and 2nd trimester. After 3 months, placenta makes high amounts of Progesterone so after the 3rd month, you can gradually decrease or stop.
Past History of Miscarriage? You may choose to continue through the week prior to your expected due date. This may give you peace of mind.
BE SURE THE PROGESTERONE IS BIO-IDENTICAL, NOT PROGESTIN (which is a synthetic)
Synthetic progesterone can be harmful to the embryo.
