Age Spots, known as lentigines, are the brown spots on our face, chest, hands & back.

Age spots are also known as sun spots or “liver” spots.” Yuk!

They are due to sun exposure & also age and seem to be inevitable. Age Spots appear when melatonin gets “clumped” or is produced in high concentration. Well, they can be defeated!

I can tell you what works because I’ve done the research & tried everything “under the sun” on your behalf. I’m very aggressive with Age Spots. They’ve met their match in me!

Age Spots are OKAY for Bananas but not for Barbara's People

What works?

1) Ester “C” A product containing Ester C evens skin tone and can prevent new Age Spots from forming. “C” Protects against sun & environment stressors. As a Bonus: C improves skin firmness & reduces fine lines by rebuilding collagen.

2) A Vitamin A product— Retinoid is an umbrella term for compounds that are derived from Vitamin A. Retinoids include: retinyl palmitate (weakest of all the retinoids), retinol (the next strongest), and retin-al You can also request prescription strength retinoids from your doctor like tretinoin (Retin-A) but these can be extremely irritating to the skin.

The biggest difference between all the retinoids is just how quickly you will see results. Studies have shown that long-term the results will all be the same regardless of which type of retinoid you use.

Vitamin A evens skin tone when used daily and fades age spots.

3) A Skin bleaching product. Bleaching serum or Bleaching Creme . The most powerful ingredients are Kojic acid & hydroquinone. These fade existing Age Spots & freckles & prohibits hyperpigmentation.

4) For very blotchy complexion and increased melasma, Mandelic Acid is amazing. Mandelic is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from almonds. It inhibits the growth of melanin, improves abnormal pigmentation & treats very stubborn brown spots & freckles. Marked improvement was seen in people who had failed with other treatments like Retin AL or hydroquinone. Over 6 months, almost complete clearing of melasma & spots was seen with Mandelic Acid. So, tried everything? This is for you. Mandelic is good for acne & Rosacea, too. It is good for all skin types & skin colors. It’s a bit pricey but it’s a serum so you don’t need much.

Want a very aggressive regimen? Vit C & Mandelic Acid in AM, Vit A in PM.

Both AM & PM you could use a bleaching product on large spots. AND, ALWAYS use SPF. I like a tinted moisturizer with SPF—2 products in 1.

I have a Dark Spot kit on my website that can save you money if you want to take a look. So.. all together now AGE SPOTS BE GONE!
