Actually, it could. High temperatures very often trigger hot flashes for many women. These sprays contain peppermint oil. Peppermint is an essential oil that has a positive effect on hot flashes because it is among the most powerful vasoconstrictors in aroma therapy and therefore helps relieve hot flashes.
How? The menthol tricks the brain into thinking your body needs relief from heat. Also, it can help with achy legs, hands, and feet. So, it is very nice oil for those of us in Perimenopause or menopause.
But be aware, most sprays contain just water and alcohol which dries quickly with only modest benefits. Ladies, you can make your own spray. Get some peppermint oil. Add 1-2 squeezes of the dropper to 4 oz. of water. You can double the amount if you have a lot of hot flashes. Put in a spray bottle. Spray it on your wrists, chest, and face and back of the neck for an instant cool down. Or you can store a vial of peppermint oil in your fridge. Whenever you feel flashy, add a dropper full to some unsweetened juice (I like cranberry) and drink it. No calories plus relief! You will prevail!

Remember, hot flashes are not lethal. Synthetic hormone prescriptions for hot flashes can be lethal. In fact, having hot flashes means that your vessels are in better condition than women who do not have them. However, let’s be comfortable!
